Lorica segmentata: preface

Soon I am going to publish some articles about Lorica segmentata, a Renaissance term because at this moment the Roman name is not know. This type of armour was an articulated laminated or laminar armour (metal strips fashioned into circular bands), usually identifies the Roman Legionnaire. I will fix my old translations updating them with new content.

In my plans I want to subdivide the work in this manner:

  • Introduction
  • Lorica Corbridge
  • Lorica Kalkriese
  • Lorica Newstead
  • Manica segmentata

Besides among these articles I will add 2 investigations on armoring hints and leather tips.
