De Legione Romana goes to Drupal

This virtual space is a porting of De Legione Romana site to Drupal, a powerful and stable content management system. Originally I created it using Cutenews, an easy-to-use news management system that uses flat files to store its database. Ten years ago it was an early and simple CMS, but it was abandoned and today it is obsolete and easily spam-attackable.

The balteus: introduction

The first model of segmental cuirass that I introduce is the Corbridge, a village in Northumberland England, where mostly military iron artefacts were excavated in 1964, thanks to those finds scholars and practising armourers understood and rebuild the Lorica Segmentata (full version is available in the Italian Section). Soon I am going to publish some articles about Lorica segmentata, a Renaissance term because at this moment the Roman name is not know. This type of armour was an articulated laminated or laminar armour (metal strips fashioned into circular bands), usually identifies the Roman Legionnaire. I will fix my old translations updating them with new content.
